Frequently asked questions
Does Simby Studio ever post without asking me?
No. Every publish requires you to select a privacy level, review the preview, and tick an express consent checkbox in the same session. There is no scheduling, queueing, or background posting.
Where is my TikTok access token stored?
On your own machine, in a permission-restricted secrets file. It is not uploaded to a Simby Studio server, because there is no Simby Studio content server — the video goes straight from your device to the platform's API.
How do I disconnect my account?
Open your TikTok app and go to Settings and privacy → Security and permissions → Apps and services, then remove Simby Studio. For YouTube, use the Google account permissions page at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Access stops immediately.
Why is the Post button greyed out?
The button unlocks only after three conditions are met: a video is selected, a privacy level has been chosen (there is no default), and the express consent checkbox is ticked. If commercial disclosure is on as branded content, the privacy level cannot be "Only me".
Why can't I turn on Comment, Duet, or Stitch?
If a toggle is greyed out, your TikTok account has that interaction disabled at the platform level. Change it in your TikTok privacy settings and reload the publishing screen.
My upload failed. What now?
The status panel shows the error returned by the platform. The most common causes are a clip longer than your account's maximum duration, an unsupported file format, or an expired authorization. Re-authorize and try again, and email us the status text if it persists.
Does Simby Studio add a watermark?
No. Your video is published exactly as you supplied it. No overlay, logo, or branding is added by the tool.
